Randall Cunningham’s Son Dies In Hot Tub Accident

LAS VEGAS: 2-year-old son of former star NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham died in what authorities on Wednesday called for an obvious accident yard hot tub.

Coroner’s office in Clark County has determined that the child, Christian Cunningham, and said that the cause of death was pending.

Las Vegas police officer Mark Martin, a department spokesman said the death appeared to have been accidental drowning, but authorities continue to investigate.

Cunningham, 47, ordained minister and pastor of the church 6 blocks from the Las Vegas Boulevard, that he works with his wife, Felicity. Christian Cunningham was the youngest of four children.

Cunningham, fleet-footed defender, played for 16 years in the NFL for Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens. He was a Pro Bowl to get four times. He also starred in UNLV.

Cunningham retired in 2002 as a leader in career rushing yards among NFL defenders with 4928. The Eagles last year added the honor team.

Cunningham returned to UNLV and received a bachelor’s degree in 2004 in the free research. He said while he wanted to set a good example to their children.

A woman in the house Cunningham also with several children, when she found the boy about 4:30 pm Tuesday, police said. She pulled the boy from a hot bath and carried out CPR. Police said they received 911 emergency call at 4:45 pm broke into the child in the St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus, where he died.

A friend of the family Cunningham and church member told ABCNews.com, that more than 100 people gathered to sing, pray and cry Tuesday night in the church Cunningham and at home. At the event, people also shared stories about Christian.

“We were there support,” said church member, who asked not to call him by name. “This is a family church and family support. We believe in the resurrection, and we believe that his son Cristian will be OK.”
