Jacksonville StateĀ  Ole Miss 49-48 in Double OT:The last crazy game crazy game, Jacksonville State running back Calvin Middleton was in the center of body mass, as defender Coty Blanchard loft 2-point conversion pass in the end zone.

Blanchard threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Kevyn Cooper on fourth and 15-draw to 48-47 in the second overtime.

It seemed that both teams could play all night, and then Gamecocks coach Jack Crowe made the call to go for victory in the season opener for both teams.

“I just do not think we could play defense again,” said Crowe.

Crow, who, with tears in his eyes during a press conference, postgame, was fired as coach in Arkansas in 1992, after his team lost to the Citadel – which was also below the level of the program.

“If you stay in it long enough, it goes both ways,” said Crowe.

made his long-awaited debut in Mississippi after approved by the NCAA on Friday. He finished 7 of 10 passes for 109 yards and 1 interception and led the insurgents on both their planting drive in overtime.

Like the rest of his teammates, he is hard to explain the collapse.

“Crazy is material,” said Masoli. “I never expected that we were in overtime.”

Ole Miss is 6-6 all time in overtime games. This was the first loss of the school in enemy FCS.

Using the 2-back system, Blanchard and ivory, the duo combined to complete 22 of 36 passes for 252 meters and 4 touchdowns.

Mississippi Brandon Bolden rushed for 104 yards and landing in 17 carries. Sophomore Nathan Stanley threw for 133 yards and three touchdowns.
